Landmark Anniversary Year for Wotton Silver Band

Updated: Mar 10, 2020

It’s been a spectacular landmark anniversary year for Wotton Silver Band!

Whilst celebrating 125 years of musical tuition and performance, the band has won three open contests in Oxfordshire, Cornwall, and Gloucestershire, and was placed a creditable 4th in the South West Regional Championships at Torquay. The band has also performed numerous concerts, most notably with the world’s no. 1 brass band The Cory Band in April and with renowned soloist Paul Richards of Flowers Band in September 2019.

2020 promises to be another hugely exciting year for the band. On Saturdary 18th April, the band will once again perform at Wotton Baptist Church and shall be honoured to welcome as guest soloist Zoe Lovatt-Cooper, the celebrated Flugel Horn player of the world’s best known brass band, Yorkshire’s Black Dyke Band. This special event marks the 50th anniversary of the Wotton Arts Festival.

Tickets £10, concessions available. Contact Ken Stout, Secretary, on 07594 668 488 or email kenstout@rocketmail.com.
