Gloucestershire Music and the Band & Bugles of the Rifles
I am delighted to forward final details of this Sunday’s workshop with the Band & Bugles of the Rifles.
Who is it for and do I need to register? Any wind, brass or percussion players (as a guide, grade 3+) will be welcomed. GM members may just turn up, we will have your details if you are a member.
Spread the word? Please encourage other fellow musicians (non GM members) to contact me ASAP if they would like to register. We do want as many young people to come as possible so please spread the word. Share on Facebook and add my email address as a contact. There is info on Facebook via GM’s accounts.
What, where and when? Sir Thomas Rich’s School Oakleaze, Gloucester, GL2 OLF. Sunday 15th October.
10:15 All participants to arrive for registration (no earlier please as it will give us an opportunity to get things ready for you). 11:00 FODAWB / GYWO / LCB / FVAWB and visitors for full rehearsal in main hall with the full Band and Bugles. GSWO members to help lead conducting class.
13:00 Lunch 14:00 Performance by The Band and Bugles of The Rifles.
14:45 Opportunity to meet the players for master classes on your instrument. 16:00 Finale and final massed rehearsal.
16:00 Finish Our timetable may change on the day so please remain flexible.
Music
We will focus on Dances from the Duck Pond (D. Stubbs) as a set work plus a great arrangement of ‘O Fortuna’ from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.
Lunch & cost to attend
There will be tea and coffee provided (donation) throughout the day. Please bring your own lunch. The Band & Bugles of the Rifles are paying for the whole day. It is free to attend but donations are always welcome.
Parking
Please help us by following the big yellow signs to the tennis courts. Post code for the school is GL2 OLF. Entrance is via reception to the left hand side of the school.
