Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you all! Karin reports success and publicity for GYBB and asks for feedback to take to WEBBA about the Area

Happy New Year to you all! GBBA have made an enthusiastic start to the year with the 2 day GYBB course in conjunction with GM and conducted by Alan Fernie. Write-ups have appeared on the website, 4barsrest and are also due in Brass Band World. Dean Radio was on hand and Dave Jury tells me interviews and performances will first be aired on Monday 27th January. Please ask your youngsters who participated to get parents to check their emails and give availability for rehearsal (29 Feb OR 1 March) and participation in Music For Youth in Cheltenham Town Hall March 7th. I was pleased to hear that GBBA bands had all entered the Area competition without problems and know that you will be keeping a watchful eye on the WEBBA site for updates. Second Section secretaries have already received percussionist information and there is also an errata published. At this Saturday's WEBBA meeting we will be finalising the Area weekend, looking at adjudicators for 2021 (let me know if you have any suggestions) and also welcoming our GBBA Safeguarding Officer, Malcolm Hannaford, to ensure all is up to date for your safety. Remember Malcolm is available for any help you require on this topic. Best wishes, Karin
